Beta Testers Needed

Monday, February 16th, 2009

So now that I’ve finally gotten Closet to a state where I can call it a beta I’m looking for a handful of people to help me test the app for bugs, usability issues, and general comments or concerns.

If you’re interested in helping me out and being one of the first to use the application email me at beta@statik.ca with your name, device type, and device ID which you can find in iTunes or Xcode.

*Update:
I’ve come across a great iPhone/iPod Touch application by Erica Sadun called Ad Hoc Helper which will make this process dead simple for you. Just install the app here and run it. All it will do is open up Mail on your device, and pre-populate the body with your devices’ ID. Just insert beta@statik.ca in the To: field and hit send.

Closet – Post Launch Updates

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

So version 1.0 hasn’t even launched yet but I’m already planning future updates that will make it into future releases of Closet. I’m also bored right now so I thought I’d share a few of the bigger ones with you.

  • The ability to email outfits and individual items.  If you have ever been talking to a friend and they asked “What are you wearing tonight?” then this feature will take your answer to the next level.  Well maybe not, but instead of verbally trying to describe what you’re wearing, just send it on over to them.
  • Different ways of viewing outfits and items when you rotate your device to landscape mode.  In the traditional view each image takes up the entire screen so I’ll be implementing a way to view more items on screen at once.
  • Backup feature.  This one doesn’t need any explanation.
  • More control over your outfits.  Just a generalization for things like changing order of items within outfits and more control like that.

There are also many more smaller features planned which I’ll talk about more at a later date.

Closet – Coming Soon

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Closet is a clothing organization application which allows you to either photograph clothing items using the built in camera (iPhone only), or import photos from your photo library or camera roll.  You can import these photos into any category you wish which you are able to create and customize as well.

You can then create outfits by combining items and saving them in custom categories.  You can then assign dates to your outfits using the built in calendar so you can plan what to wear ahead of time.

It’s our first application which will be coming to market very soon.

Screen shots to come.
